Support Groups

Does anyone know of good emotional support groups in the Salem, Oregon area for caregivers of Parkinson's patients? I am looking for help for myself, my family, and especially for my mom. My dad is the patient. I'm looking for something that has group sharing, and access to a professional who can connect to resources.

Parkinson's support group

my name is Diana Butvinik and my husband Warren was diagnosed in 2009 for Parkinson's he's been a pharmacist for 30 years he stopped working because of the Parkinson's 2016 and I stopped working in 2017 my husband started a podcast to help people with Parkinson's we always knew it was difficult for people to get out too attend support group meeting so our goal was to always make it virtual so anybody can attend. Here's a podcast that he started with his neurologist a year ago in house over 70 episodes on all kinds of subjects of interest for me him being a pharmacist helps me out tremendously. He's currently working on his website called help with parkinsons.com all one word. We've attended so many support group meetings ever since he got diagnosed which makes it over 10 years we've known lots of couples who have come and gone sadly the same. You can check out the podcast and go to the website I've been trying for years to do one for caregivers so I'm working on my website now and soon will be starting virtual support group meetings today I just signed up for this form helping to connect with other caregivers to get the word out so that we can either virtually help each other or connect on this form. My name is Diana I can be reached anytime at caregiverinpa.com or( 717 )745 -7090 just leave a message.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago

I was diagnosed 2 years ago at age 63. Symptoms were tremor in right leg, loss of handwriting ability,My normally beautiful cursive writing was now small cramped printing and soft voice. I also had difficulty rising from a seated position and have balance issues. I started out taking only Azilect, then Mirapex, and then Sinemet. Several months ago I started falling frequently, hence the reason for Sinemet. During the summer of 2021, I was introduced to Health Herbs Clinic and their effective Parkinson’s herbal protocol. This protocol relieved symptoms significantly, even better than the medications I was given. Visit www . healthherbsclinic . com , After First month on treatment, my tremors mysterious stopped, had improvement walking. After I completed the treatment, all symptoms were gone. I live a more productive life. I was fortunate to have the loving support of my husband and family. I make it a point to appreciate every day!
