My name is Selena. I have an elderly mom who has dementia and had 2 strokes in one week a few years back. My sisters and I have a hand in her care, but she doesn't allow us to do much. She lives in an independent living facility but needs more assisted care. I'm searching for grants that will allow me to hire an aide to come in a few times a week and a few hours each time to assist her. She receives help from outsiders more readily than her own family. She's a target for predators. I only have medical power of attorney which doesn't help much right now. Medical is so costly for the elderly and I don't have it to take care of her the way she needs.
