My sister was admitted to the hospital almost 4 weeks ago in total renal failure. She is receiving dialysis and according to her doctors her electrolytes are good as are her creatinine and BUN. Unfortunately, she is exhibiting signs of hospital acquired delirium now. I know I need to be there for her but it is so difficult seeing her in this state. I'm not sure how to try to engage her. I feel like nothing is getting through to her. Does anyone have experience with this condition? It's so very scary.
