Bipolar and MS Spouse

Greetings.  My wife had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder since we were college sweethearts.  The Multiple Sclerosis didn't come into play until 2005.  I had been slowly cracking up until last week when I had a meltdown so bad that the cops threatened me.  A buddy of mine was dead serious about me getting in touch with him whenever I feel down.  Another friend recommended me to this website.  So, here I am.  I will be checking in from time to time just to keep myself on an even keel.  Yeah, I have a reasonably devout prayer life.  Perhaps this is an answer to some prayers.

Deacon John, I hear you
Deacon John, I hear you brother. My wife was diagnosed with MS back in 2012. Within 5 yrs she went from walking with a cane to being completely wheelchair bound. The warm loving woman I married turned into an angry, resentful, bitter person and as her sole care provider I am the focus of her wrath. Between that and the physical demands of doing everything for her --bathing, feeding, bathroom, shaving legs, trimming toenails--24 hrs a day 7 days a week I've completely lost it several times. The police haven't been called yet, but my wife has threatened it lol. I thought when my wife was first diagnosed that it would strengthen our relationship and I'd become more patient, kind, caring and loving but the last few years have taken its toll and just the opposite seems to be happening. It makes me feel a little better to know I'm not the only one dealing with these issues. Every day I vow to be a better person and pray for patience but end up failing miserably. Hang in there, my friend and stay strong. I know it's tough to do but try to find time for exercise and meditation. Our wives need us and we cant keep this up if we breakdown mentally or physically.
