Long-Acting Injectable Treatment: The Caregiver Experience

Caregiver Action Network is bringing together family caregivers to talk about what it is really like to support someone who receives a long-acting injectable (LAI) treatment.

We want to hear about your experiences, including how treatment was first discussed, conversations with health care providers, insurance and access challenges, appointment or transportation logistics, and the day-to-day realities of helping a loved one stay connected to treatment.

The goal is to learn directly from caregivers about what has helped, what has been difficult, and what could better support families navigating LAI treatment.

The Caregiver Experience With Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)
[September 22, 2026 - 1 p.m. ET]

Caregiver Action Network wants to hear from caregivers who currently support, or have previously supported, a loved one with alcohol use disorder (AUD). This conversation is an opportunity to share what the caregiving experience has really been like, including the challenges of understanding AUD, finding and navigating treatment, managing stress and financial strain, and handling the impact on family relationships and everyday life.

We also want to learn what messages and resources would feel most helpful to caregivers and families. The session will be recorded so real caregiver experiences can help shape future education and support.

The Caregiver Breaking Point
[October 8, 2026 - 1 p.m. ET]

Caregiving can change slowly or all at once, and many people do not realize they have become caregivers until the responsibilities are already overwhelming.

Caregiver Action Network wants to hear from family caregivers about what those early stages really felt like, what became hardest to manage, and what kinds of support could have made a meaningful difference sooner. We’ll talk about the pressures caregivers juggle, the barriers that make it difficult to find or accept help, and whether technology and other tools make caregiving easier or simply add another task to the list.

Your experiences can help shape better support for caregivers before they reach a crisis point.

Continue the Conversation: Voices of Care Caregiver Roundtable

Caregivers who attended or registered for the Voices of Care: Schizophrenia Caregiver Virtual Summit are invited to continue the conversation in a private virtual Roundtable. Participants will share what stood out from the Summit, what they found most useful, and what topics, information, or resources they would like to see explored further.

Your feedback will help Caregiver Action Network better understand the needs of schizophrenia caregivers and shape future education, resources, and support.
