I need free or very low cost caregivers for my husband with advanced stage Parkinson's Disease. We do not qualify for a lot of federal or state programs because of our income and savings, but we are at a deficit every month. He gets Social Security Disability and I work part time. We live in the Dallas, Texas metro area. Hope someone can give me some advice about community organizations or agencies that could provide us with affordable or free caregivers.
Thank you.
Hi, lkatzen -
Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing about your situation. I would start by reaching out to our Caregiver Help Desk, as they might be able to direct you to some local respite resources.
You can reach out to the Help Desk by calling the toll free number at (855)227-3640. You can reach out via chat by clicking the orange "Hellp Desk" button on the bottom right of your screen. The hours are 8AM to 7PM Eastern - Monday through Friday, excluding holidays - to speak with someone live but you can leave a message if you reach out outsude of those hours. You can visit our Caregiver Help Desk page for even more information.
