Finding Support Groups
- Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA): FCA offers various online support groups, including one for African American caregivers and another for LGBTQ+ caregivers.
- National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): NAMI offers online support groups like NAMI Connection for individuals with mental health conditions and their families.
- The National Organization for Tardive Dyskinesia (NOTD): NOTD is a non-profit advocacy group that offers support, awareness, community, and education about tardive dyskinesia.
- Reach out to local community centers, libraries, or places of worship to inquire about in-person support groups. You can also consult with healthcare providers or other caregivers to get recommendations for reputable support groups in your area. Local community Facebook groups or other social media platforms are another way to find caregiver support groups.
- If you or your loved one is a veteran, VA.gov resources are another place to look for support groups and mentoring programs.
