Caregiver Action Network Welcomes Three New Board Members, Strengthening Our Mission
Caregiver Action Network (CAN) is proud to welcome three new members to our Board of Directors whose collective expertise spans caregiving practice, community engagement, military and veteran support, storytelling, communications, and financial leadership.
Together, Nicole Clagett, Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar, and Laura Bottino bring decades of experience working alongside caregivers, older adults, Veterans, and mission-driven organizations—offering CAN a powerful blend of compassion, strategy, and operational insight.
Across healthcare, hospice, and community-based systems, Nicole Clagett has spent more than 25 years advocating for caregivers and families navigating chronic, severe, and life-limiting illness. A trained social worker and program builder, she has designed successful caregiver support programs in both academic health systems and community settings, led large-scale events and conferences, and elevated caregiver voices through media, marketing, and storytelling. Her background strengthens CAN’s ability to connect with caregivers where they are—and ensure their experiences are visible, valued, and understood.
Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar (Doc Q) brings nationally recognized leadership at the intersection of caregiving, military service, and end-of-life care. An Army Veteran, military spouse, End-of-Life Doula Educator, and Founder of In Their Honor, she has devoted more than two decades to ensuring aging and terminally ill Veterans—and those who care for them—receive dignified, culturally responsive support. Through her work with PsychArmor and across compassionate community initiatives nationwide, Doc Q contributes deep expertise in engagement, transformation, storytelling, and systems change that will help CAN expand its reach and impact among military-connected caregivers.

Laura Bottino adds critical financial and governance expertise to CAN’s Board. A seasoned finance leader and founder of Scalewise Financials, Laura specializes in building scalable, metrics-driven financial operations for growing organizations. Her experience leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financing strategies equips CAN with strong fiscal stewardship as the organization continues to grow. Known for her collaborative and steady leadership style, Laura helps align mission, strategy, and sustainability.
“These leaders each bring something essential to Caregiver Action Network—deep caregiving knowledge, lived experience, strategic insight, and a shared belief that caregivers deserve better systems of support,” said Marvell Adams Jr., CEO of Caregiver Action Network. “Their combined expertise will help guide CAN as we strengthen our programs, elevate caregiver voices, and build a future where caregivers are truly recognized and supported.”
Caregiver Action Network is honored to welcome these three incredible leaders and looks forward to the guidance, perspective, and passion they bring to advancing our mission.
