Financial Security & Economic Empowerment: The Caregiver Innovation Council’s First Working Group Takes Flight

October 21, 2025

Last week marked a significant milestone for the Caregiver Innovation Council as we had our first Financial Security & Economic Empowerment working group meeting. With founding members from CareSupport, CareScout, and Medivox Health joining forces alongside CAN leadership, the energy was exciting — and the potential for impact, undeniable.

Caregiver Innovation Council

The Manhattan Project of Caregiving

As CareSupport founder Liban Kano described it, the Caregiver Innovation Council “feels like the Manhattan Project of caregiving.” The working group session embodied that spirit perfectly. Like those pioneering scientists, we’re building something transformative while figuring out the blueprint as we go, except our mission is to revolutionize support for more than 63 million family caregivers nationwide.

Where Financial Stress Meets Innovation

The timing of this working group couldn’t be more critical. Half of all calls to CAN’s National Caregiver Help Desk involve financial concerns — from understanding insurance coverage to managing the economic strain of caregiving responsibilities. Our three founding members bring unique but complementary solutions to these challenges:

CareSupport is revolutionizing care coordination with a platform that replaces scattered communications with one unified carespace, ensuring no critical detail falls through the cracks while reducing caregiver burnout.

CareScout is transforming how families plan and fund long-term care, providing the tools and credentialed provider networks that make quality care both accessible and affordable.

Medivox Health is eliminating the costly confusion that often follows medical visits, using AI to help patients and caregivers understand, remember, and share critical health information.

Collaboration in Action

What made the meeting particularly exciting was witnessing the natural synergy between these organizations. The discussion quickly moved beyond individual solutions to explore how these platforms could work together to create a comprehensive support ecosystem for caregivers. Imagine a world where families can plan and fund their care needs (CareScout), coordinate that care seamlessly (CareSupport), and ensure clear communication throughout the process (Medivox Health).

This working group is positioned to pursue collaborative projects that none of these organizations could tackle alone. The potential is enormous: pilot programs that demonstrate the power of integrated caregiving solutions, research initiatives that quantify the economic impact of coordinated care, and scalable toolkits that can be deployed nationwide through CAN’s extensive network.

Building the Future Together

As we wrapped up the session, the path forward became clear. This isn’t just about three companies working together (alongside CAN) — it’s about creating a new model for how innovation happens in the caregiving space.

The Financial Security & Economic Empowerment working group represents something larger: proof that when we combine lived caregiving experience with entrepreneurial innovation and strategic collaboration, we can build solutions that truly move the needle for families.

Stay tuned as this working group continues to develop joint initiatives and demonstrate that the future of caregiving support lies not in isolated solutions, but in the power of collaborative innovation.

The Caregiver Innovation Council’s Financial Security & Economic Empowerment working group will continue meeting regularly to develop joint projects and funding opportunities.
