Building on a Year of Collaboration, CAN Welcomes 28 New and Returning Members to Its Growing Innovation Ecosystem 

WASHINGTON, DC – Caregiver Action Network (CAN), the nation’s leading family caregiver organization, today announces the launch of the 2026-2027 cohort of the Caregiver Innovation Council (CIC) — welcoming 28 mission-driven CareTech and AgeTech companies committed to improving the lives of the more than 63 million family caregivers across the United States. 

The CIC, launched in 2025, brings together innovative startups and technology companies working at the intersection of caregiving and technology to collaborate, co-create, and help shape the future of family caregiver support. After a year of hands-on collaboration with CAN’s founding cohort of 19 members, the Council enters its second year with expanded membership, deepened programming, and a growing network of innovators united by a shared mission.

As we welcome this new cohort, we are more committed than ever to ensuring that the tools and technologies being built for caregivers are built with caregivers — and with the depth of understanding that only comes from true partnership.”

These are founders and leaders who understand the caregiving experience — and that makes all the difference.” 

A Year of Impact: The Founding Cohort 

The CIC’s founding cohort of 19 members – launched in June 2025 – participated in quarterly working sessions and at the annual Caregiver Innovation Summit, pursued joint funding opportunities, contributed to CAN’s annual Caregiver Tech Insights Survey, and engaged with CAN’s network of family caregivers. Their work helped inform CAN’s advocacy, education, and programming priorities, and laid the foundation for the Council’s growing role in the broader caregiving ecosystem. 

What’s Ahead for the 2026-2027 Cohort 

The new cohort will engage in caregiver focus groups, added caregiver research, and CAN’s annual Caregiver Innovation Summit. Members will also have access to CAN’s audience insights, opportunities for co-creation, networking, and visibility across CAN’s platforms and programs.
